  • October 1, 2007 - The Brothers of Penn Beta are proud to announce that we are now a nationally accredited chapter.  We are currently following 8 of 11 standards of operation as determined by the Chapter Excellence Program.  These standards are:  Ritual, Scholarship, Campus and Community Involvement, Chapter Operations, Financial Management, Alumni Relations, Risk Management, and Code of Conduct.  This honor is indeed a great step in the right direction for our chapter.  For more detailed information on the standards of operation and the accreditation process, check out the Accreditation Booklet.

  • June 24, 2007 - The Brothers of Penn Beta earned an average GPA of 2.9 for the 2007 spring semester. • April 30, 2007 - Looking Back on the Academic Year - This past year, we have made great strides in almost every walk of fraternity life. This year we gained 11 new members, raising our current active total to 32. Academically, our chapter is starting to distinguish itself. Our cumulative GPA is currently the second highest of any fraternity on campus, and it is the highest jump from one semester to the next that Allegheny College has on record for any Greek organization. By the end of the first semester we had already completed the Phi Psi 500 for community service hours, and we continued work hard through this spring. Currently, we are hosting a volleyball tournament at our house with the Alpha Chi Omega sorority with all proceeds going to local community organizations. In addition, our chapter is currently working on developing a scholarship for incoming freshman men. We look forward to the fall 2007 semester and replenishing the graduating seniors we will be losing.
  • January 22, 2007 - Congratulations to the Brothers of Penn Beta for earning a 3.01 GPA for the fall 2006 semester. This is an 18% increase from the past spring, and it is also the highest Phi Psi GPA ever recorded at Allegheny. Great job men, keep up the hard work...
  • December 12, 2006 - The Brothers of Phi Kappa Psi mourn the loss of Pennsylvania Beta Alumni, Governor Raymond P. Shaffer. His dedication to, and lifelong support of Pennsylvania Beta will be dearly missed.
